WHAT WE DO
R2RDR - Together We Rise!
The R2RDR group, in partnership with national and Wisconsin Voluntary Organizations Active in a Disaster (VOAD) helps individuals and businesses
in Vernon, Crawford, Monroe and La Crosse counties
recover from a natural disaster.
Past recovery efforts have focused on the flooding of 2018.
Recent recovery efforts include: Covid-19 pandemic, housing challenges, 2021 local flooding and fires.
Priorities for funding involve safety, health and loss of income.
In 2021, we joined efforts with Serve Wisconsin, WI-VOAD and WEM (Wisconsin Emergency Management) in a pilot program to expand community hazard assessment and disaster response and recovery efforts through local organizations and individuals.
To date, R2RDR has spent nearly $250,000 for those who experienced damage in the flooding of August/September of 2018. Another $50,000 is earmarked for those seeking buyouts.
Estimates from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) show more than 900 families and more than 90 businesses in this region were impacted by floodwaters in 2018. River 2 Ridge is a group of volunteers striving to make sure each person and each business is able to access as many available resources as possible to continue on the road to recovery.
There’s more than one way that you can help. Whether you want to work, volunteer, or donate to R2RDR, there are plenty of ways to join us in making a real difference. Check out the opportunities to get involved and contact us if you have any questions. We appreciate your interest.
