Jackson, Mississippi is currently dealing with flooding and water issues in 2022.

Long-term recovery and resiliency work has been underway since 2018's floods, to improve watershed cooperation and ideas sharing in the Coon Creek Watershed mainly in Vernon County with coordination of La Crosse and Monroe Counties.

Pakistan is also dealing with country-wide flooding and water crisis, which is causing another mass human migration.

The rural counties of Vernon and Monroe Counties have enrolled in UW-Madison's program to participate in AGU's Thriving Earth program, working on flooding reduction and resiliency.  La Crosse County is working on reducing urban heat and "hot spots".
